Safety Tips
Your safety is your responsibility. Rubmaps does not verify or endorse any listings on this site. Before visiting any massage parlor or meeting anyone from an online listing, please review these important safety guidelines.
Before You Go
- Read reviews carefully. Look for consistent positive feedback from multiple reviewers. Be wary of listings with no reviews or only very recent ones.
- Research the location. Search the business name and address online. Check if it appears on Google Maps, has a website, or shows up in local business directories.
- Watch for red flags. Listings that seem too good to be true, use stolen photos, ask for upfront payment via gift cards or crypto, or pressure you to act quickly are common signs of scams.
- Tell someone where you're going. Share the address and your expected return time with a trusted friend or family member.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels off before you even arrive, don't go. It's not worth the risk.
When You Arrive
- Check the surroundings. Is the location clean and professional? Does it match what was described in the listing? If it doesn't feel right, leave.
- Don't leave valuables unattended. Keep your wallet, phone, and keys with you at all times.
- Pay attention to exits. Know where the doors are and make sure you can leave at any time.
- Set boundaries clearly. Communicate what you're comfortable with upfront. A legitimate service provider will respect your boundaries.
- Don't carry large amounts of cash. Bring only what you need for the service.
Online Safety
- Don't share personal information. Never give out your home address, workplace, full name, or financial information to someone from an online listing.
- Use a secondary phone number. Consider using a Google Voice number or similar service when communicating with advertisers.
- Be cautious with photos. Don't send personal photos that could be used to identify or blackmail you.
- Never send money in advance. Legitimate businesses don't require prepayment via gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency.
If Something Goes Wrong
- Leave immediately if you feel unsafe or uncomfortable at any point.
- Call 911 if you are in immediate danger.
- Report the listing to us at abuse@rubmaps.sh or through our Report Abuse page.
- File a police report if you were the victim of a crime, scam, or assault.
